Lunch With Fela (2005)
Lunch With Fela, is the filmmaker’s response to the passing of his last parent, Fela Ravett. Utilizing a combination of DV footage shot during her stay at a nearby nursing facility, excerpts from previously made 16mm films, animation sequences, plus remaining family memorabilia, the film renders the presence and absence of a much loved parent. Furry’s Gift (2002)
Footage shot in 1976 of a performance by the legendary blues musician, Furry Lewis, who was 83 years old at the time. Originally shot on a Sony 1/2″ Porta Pak, the footage was transferred to Mini DV and edited to maintain the integrity of that solo performance. Included is a ten minute interview conducted with Furry Lewis during intermission.
